The brief, the idea and the craft

Brand

Five fictional companies across five industries, each designed as a real identity: an ownable geometric mark, a wordmark, a construction grid, clear space and two colours on its own field.

Brief

The high-volume "logo sting" gig ($390 for a set), which also upgrades every end card. Each logo gets a 3–5 s sting in a different technique; one gets a premium 3D version; everything ships with sound and in editor-ready alpha.

Format

60 fps. 6 stings (5 flat × 4.0 s, glass × 5.0 s) in 16:9 (1920×1080) and 1:1 (1080×1080). The lockup is identical in both, rescaled: ≈47 % of the width in 16:9, 60–70 % in 1:1. Plus a 21.5 s showcase (16:9 + 1:1).

What makes it work

  • The technique is the brand story: robots move orthogonally, the design tool bends a corner with its own handle, airflow is drawn from its construction, the coffee clock's long hand is the stretch, cells divide behind shutters and then become lab glass.
  • Real identity construction (grids, clear space, two colours, measured wordmarks) rather than generic logo shapes.
  • Craft timing: something moves on frame 0, one hit on a beat, an 8 f wordmark delay, a static hold. Lockups sized for a phone (≥ 47 % width, marks ≥ 240 px).
  • Editor-ready: alpha masters with and without sound, and identical lockups in 16:9 and 1:1.

Structure

Every sting runs anticipation → hit on 1.5 s → settle → wordmark 8 f later → ≥1.2 s static end hold with one micro-life detail.

  • Orthogon: assemble (0–1.5 s). 104 tiles start as an even warehouse-floor lattice (frame 0). Aisles drive along x outer-first, then the whole grid snaps in on y together. The orange 2×2 block docks alone ON the hit. 12×12 grid, ring 4 cells thick, corners chamfered by a 3-step stair.
  • Pliant: morph (0–1.5 s). A white disc is selected (bounding box + handles). Three corners pull sharp one by one, then the radius handle (pivot + guide + "r 66" chip) drags the top-right corner out. The pivot punches through as the mark's square hole ON the hit. It's a per-corner-radius path, so every in-between is a valid shape (no mid-morph blobs).
  • Nordvane: line draw (0–1.5 s). Drafting crosshair on frame 0. C0 and seven construction circles (centres sliding down a 35° axis) stroke on at 2.5 px / 35 % ink, the stripe outlines trace, and ink floods upward; the mark is complete ON the hit. It's built at 33 % of the frame height and settles into the lockup.
  • Longhand Coffee: kinetic type (0–1.5 s). "LONG" rises ultra-condensed and stretches along Archivo's width axis (62 → 125). "HAND" rises beside it and both settle to 112. The clock-face O's minute hand sweeps 1⅓ turns and lands on ten past ON the hit. COFFEE tracking-snaps in; the hand ticks one minute on the hold.
  • Morula Bio: mask reveal (0–1.5 s). Four nuclei on frame 0. Two pairs of sector shutters sweep the cells in around their nuclei, then a closing iris swaps the solid union for the even-odd cell structure ON the hit. A slab wipe led by a plum bar reveals the wordmark.
  • Morula Bio: 3D glass (0–2.5 s). Four glass cells over a lab-plate dot field. Domed lenses magnify and chromatically fringe the dots; a hot strip-softbox streak slides across all four during one slow ≤20° turn; directional fresnel and TIR rims; double glass reads deeper plum; contact shadow + caustics. On the settle (2.5 s) the glass converges exactly onto the flat even-odd mark: lobes to ink, overlaps to field, highlights and plate out, so the switch to the flat logo is invisible. Then the wordmark.
  • Showcase (21.5 s). 3.5 s per brand with on-beat transitions built from the outgoing mark: tile march → corner-radius sweep → vane-stripe wipe → clock-hand wipe. Flat Morula → glass is a hard match-cut at the same size and position (16.0 s). The glass irises open onto an end grid of all six with one line: "Logo animation, Glint Studio".

Audio

Six original stings synthesized per technique (pen strokes → chime for line draw, elastic glide for the morph, clock tick/tock for the kinetic type, servo legs + dock clunk for the assemble, shutter blades + ratcheting iris for the mask, crystalline swell + streak shimmer for the glass), each locked to the picture's hit frames. The showcase bed puts every hit and cut on a downbeat. −16 LUFS.

Concept

Concept work by Glint Studio. All five brands are fictional (Concept). Orthogon, Pliant, Nordvane, Longhand Coffee and Morula Bio, their marks, lines and industries are invented for this piece. Every name was web-checked on 2026-10-25.

Design, animation, code

Glint Studio (Mateus Figueiredo). Marks, construction grids and motion built in React/SVG and rendered with Remotion 4.0.538. The 3D glass version is three.js (via @remotion/three) with a custom ray-traced refraction shader. No AI imagery, no stock footage, no third-party templates.

Music & sound

Music & sound design: original, Glint Studio (synthesized in-house).

  • Six stings, one per technique, each synced to the picture's hit frames.

No third-party audio; nothing needs attribution.

Loudness

All stings and showcases: −16 LUFS integrated (Nordvane −16.2), peaks ≤ −1.7 dBFS (see loudness.txt). The alpha masters carry the same stings (silent variants have no audio track).
